The Wild Moon Distillery in North Wales was founded by the Welsh Witch, we are creators of premium craft spirits: magical potions that excite the senses, bring people together and tell a story.  We are also known to deliver bespoke bar hire services for your witchy garden party, mystical wedding or festival event. Our collection of spirits is based around Welsh folklore and Celtic pagan traditions, such as using natural botanicals, syncing our production with the lunar cycles and reiki cleansing our spirits. All our spirits are handcrafted in our Wild Moon Distillery in Wrexham, North Wales for an authentic taste of the mystical countryside.

The Welsh Witch, Jade, was born in a small village in North Wales. A Beltane baby, a May Queen, a Goddess of Love. A focal point of the Pagan celebration of Beltane is the rituals. The cauldron used in these celebrations represents the Goddess; Jade is our Welsh Goddess of summer flowers and love. Lover of laughter and life itself, she brings magic, warmth and light wherever she goes. An abundance of energy and positivity, a beautiful soul and a natural born healer, she desired to share her love with the world. Her passion for excellent flavours, nature and all things witchy was a marriage perfect to brew her Welsh Witch magic. The Welsh Witch – proud of her roots – sought to tell tales of her origins while spellbinding the masses with Wales’ Finest Potions.

The journey began when the Welsh Witch Original Dry Gin was the first potion to launch in December 2019 and the mythical branding sparked an interest. The premium 40% juniper led gin, distilled with bitter and sweet orange, began to put Wales on the gin-lovers’ radar. Soon after, Welsh Witch Original Dry Gin received a SILVER award in The London Spirts Competition and seen in British GQ for 3 issues over the summer of 2020.

Then, in April 2020 we decided to cast a spell of warmth and spice, and launched our Welsh Witch Spiced Rum. Another premium 40% spirit, our core collection began to grow. The inspiration for our Spiced Rum comes from our Welsh heritage, influenced by the Welsh fruit loaf, a traditional “bara brith” with its mix of sweetness, spice and all things nice. Our Rum also became a star of its own, and was seen in British GQ alongside its older sister, the Original Dry Gin.

Fast forward a couple of magical and memorable years, and we’ve been busy developing our Wheel of the Year Collection. Inspired by the pagan Wheel of the Year, our sabbat inspired spirit editions highlight the cyclical nature of life and intertwine rich spiritual history with local Welsh traditions and flavours. Our spirits have gone on to win numerous awards, including a Gold Medal for our Spiced Rum in 2022 at The Spirits Business Masters Competition, two Great Taste Awards, a Silver award in the IWSC for our Original Dry Gin and a Bronze in the IWSC for our Beltane Gin.
